RUMIGEN’s People: Simon Holstener!

Mr Simon Holstener, MSc in Technological Anthropology. Project Manager at the Danish Board of Technology.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I am a project manager at the Danish Board of Technology. I hold an MSc in Technological Anthropology with a specialization in food and agriculture innovation, with a focus on future food systems. I specialize in understanding people’s perception of food, the boundaries between natural and unnatural. At the Danish Board of Technology, I work with stakeholders and citizen engagement on complex topics such as genetic engineering in plants and animals. In RUMIGEN I establish a stakeholder forum with representatives from a broad spectrum within the animal farming sector. I am also working on a so-called ‘’room of acceptance’’ for new breeding approaches, where I consult citizens within the EU on how they view genetic engineering should be applied in the future.
