Hi, my name is Sara, and I am a project manager at the Danish Board of Technology. I hold an MSc in Engineering in Biotechnology with a specialization in molecular biotechnology, with a focus on CRISPR/Cas9 technology and the European bioeconomy. At the Danish Board of Technology, I work with project management, stakeholder engagement and community building and management. In RUMIGEN I draw upon my expertise in genome editing and combine it with methods on how to engage the public with emerging science and technologies. I bring together stakeholders with different views and opinions on genetic engineering to foster fruitful discussions on how it should be applied to new breeding approaches. Combining the collective knowledge gained from the RUMIGEN stakeholder forum, I will then lead the citizen consultations across Europe on people’s perceptions of these new breeding approaches.
