I am Dag Inge Våge. I work as a professor in genetics at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), Ås, Norway. In general, my research interest is to reveal and understand the link between genotype and phenotype in mammals and fish. I have headed projects identifying causal mutations for traits like fertility/ovulation rate, carotenoid metabolism and muscle growth. I also have an interest in coat colour genetics, and the pleiotropic effects of genes related to melanisation. Within the RUMIGEN project, I am involved work package 4 (Selection, genetic load and diversity), more specifically in assembling of breed specific genome sequence graphs.
