Hola, my name is Clara Diaz, from Spain. I am a researcher at the Animal Breeding Department from INIA-CSIC. During my career I have been working in many research topics dealing with the study of the genetic background of traits of interest for the ruminant sector with the final objective of improving their efficiency of production and, therefore, their livelihood. Currently, I am involved in the development of breeding tools incorporating omics and searching for novel phenotypes to improve resilience in ruminants. In RUMIGEN I will be involved in assessing the impact of thermal stress on dairy cattle production, in evaluating its epigenetic component as well as in the design of selection strategies to breed animals with a better ability to cope with challenging and changing environments.
