The collaboration between CODE-EFABAR and the RUMIGEN project exemplifies a shared commitment to responsible and sustainable cattle breeding practices. CODE-EFABAR provides guiding principles for balanced breeding, while RUMIGEN focuses on scientific research, technological advancements, and stakeholder engagement.
- Genetic Diversity: CODE-EFABAR ensures effective management of genetic diversity to preserve both endangered and non-endangered genetic resources.
- Animal Welfare: RUMIGEN addresses animal welfare and engages stakeholders to assess the social acceptability of breeding technologies.
- Societal Perspectives: RUMIGEN incorporates societal perspectives in defining breeding goals and selecting appropriate technologies.
Together, they develop guidelines for future breeding programs, considering genetic diversity management, animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and stakeholder engagement. This collaboration creates a comprehensive roadmap for breeders and stakeholders.
